Carefuge works with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and with vulnerable adults who need a safe place to live plus some support. Every situation is assessed individually. You can refer yourself, or a support worker, social worker, family member or agency can refer on your behalf.

How is the rent paid if I am on benefits?

Rent in supported accommodation is usually met through Housing Benefit paid by the local council rather than the housing element of Universal Credit, because supported housing is treated differently from an ordinary tenancy. Entitlement depends on individual circumstances, so the Carefuge team goes through the figures with each person before anything is agreed.
